A little fun...

I was working tonight and there was an even going on that basically asked girls to dress up as porn stars. I have been dreading this night for a week or so. It's not something I wanted to see even from afar and of course people would come into my work. There were two things that broke my heart tonight. One was this girl who I have a class with and it sweet, smart etc... came into work wearing a black bra, a tie, a strip of clothing as a "skirt" but you could see the thong she was wearing clear as day and stockings. She came up to the till and apologized for how ridiculous she looked. I agreed jokingly. We chatted for a bit longer and she left. Right after she stepped into mac hall a group of guy followed her cat calling and making comments like sweet jesus did you see that. I makes me so sad to see girls trying to get that kind of attention by wearing nothing. I wanted to hug that girl and tell her she has more worth then that! I have been there wanting that kind of attention but it never satisfies. Only makes things worse.
The second thing was taking to a campus security friend he told me last year they had about one reported incidence of rape a month. He said he hoped there wouldn't be any problems tonight but it's a recipe for disaster. How sad that a club is setting up an event where a girl being raped is a huge possibility. All in the name of a "little fun"??
